Moving to composable commerce is a journey, not a project. Rather than jumping from one platform to many tools, brands can switch from one to two. Then, iterate in smaller steps, selecting only what is needed and evolving a stack over time.

Filippo is the co-founder and CEO of Commerce Layer Filippo started Commerce Layer in 2017 with his cofounder Massimo Scardellato. They met while building the global ecommerce experience for Gucci. When tasked with “replatforming” the Gucci ecommerce website, Filippo and Massimo found the developer tools that were available were so insufficient that they decided to create Commerce Layer, a more modern API-first approach. Filippo’s vision was to make anything shoppable, anywhere, which meant creating a platform that allowed any developer or brand to make any experience a shoppable moment for their customers. Filippo holds a Masters degree in Computer Science from Florence University. He writes a prominent blog for developers called www.commercefordevs.org.
